On January 10, 2010, Heroic Tarot received its first Yelp review. Four years later and the love is still going strong. I am extremely grateful for being granted the gift of sharing my Tarot knowledge with the public. Being of service is a privilege that I greatly treasure. Thank you to all of my clients who have shared their stories with me. Thank you for trusting me with your dreams, fears, goals and joys. Thank you to everyone who took the time to write a review. To celebrate, I wanted to share the first and still one of my favorite reviews of Heroic Tarot:

Do you ever feel like you are in the eye of a hurricane while everyone and everything else is spinning around you? How do find composure within that chaos? The Temperance card of the Tarot holds the key to moderation, reminding us of our vitality and how to balance our mental, physical and emotional well-being. In the image above (drawn by Pamela Colman Smith), we see Raphael, the angel of healing. He stands with one foot in the water and one foot on the shore, illustrating his bridge-building capabilities. He is literally dancing between worlds. He pours water from one cup into another and back again as a symbol of his emotional equilibrium. He releases his feelings in accordance with the other elements in his life and recombines them over and over again to find a new heart-based response. Temperance teaches us to travel the middle road in order to avoid extremes. It is a blending of two ideas or materials into a new form. This is alchemy and it requires optimism, enthusiasm and confidence.
“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.” ~ Laozi

Inspiration! Peace! Healing! The Star shines above, connecting us to Source energy. It remind us of our dreams, leads us back to our highest vibrations. In Tarot, we celebrate the Star as a harbinger of inner calm and wholeness. It symbolizes power from within, a sense of grace. The Star relates astrologically to Aquarius, the sign of having the courage to be your self. The recent New Moon in Aquarius opened up new avenues of freedom so we may begin cycles of manifestation. What old habits or stories are you releasing? What fresh perspective has imbued your consciousness? What aspect of your Self needs new expression?

Throughout history people have told fortunes with all manner of things: scattered bones, the remnants of tea leaves in a cup, tossed coins, watching birds across the sky, anything. It has only been since the eighteenth century that Tarot has been used to divine intellectual and spiritual pathways. Yet all of these methods stem from the same innate curiosity to know what is going to happen in advance. The practitioners of these rituals possess an understanding that all things have a relationship to one other. As Rachel Pollack states in Seventy-Eight Degrees of Wisdom, “everything is connected, everything has meaning and nothing occurs at random.”
Greetings, dear reader! Welcome to my Heroic Tarot process featuring my award-winning X-Men cards!
The X-Men playing card deck is adorned with images of Marvel’s Merry Mutants. I have created a system combining traditional Minor Arcana meaning with my vast knowledge of X-Men comic book stories. The archetypal roles the X-Men represent bring the energy of the missing Major Arcana to the overall calculation. I reveal the superheroic tales relevant to your path. This dual reading is amplified by the elemental nature of whatever suit is pulled in addition to the numerological/feudal court energy contained therein.
I invite you to take a look at all of the cards featured and compare my comic-based interpretations with how they relate to traditional tarot definitions. Here they are in order:
“Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors where there were only walls.”
Happy New Year, dear reader! This month Heroic Tarot celebrates January with the Ace of Cups! When this Minor Arcana card appears, it brings the beginning of love and pleasure. Our heart opens to new psychic or spiritual portals! New possibilities for relationships, especially love connections, blossom in our lives. The Ace of Cups brings new intuitive awareness and renews our commitment for bliss! Alternative medicine practitioner Deepak Chopra says,
Nothing is more important than reconnecting with your bliss. Nothing is as rich. Nothing is more real.
In her book, Tarot for Your Self: A Workbook for Personal Transformation, Mary K. Greer posits questions one can ask when the Ace of Cups appears:
What is making you feel good right now? What would you like to do to indulge yourself? What or who is offering you nurturing or love? What messages are you receiving from dreams and visions? What does your heart feel most open to?
Greer also gives this affirmation:
I recognize the opportunity to express and accept love.
Schedule your Heroic Tarot reading today and let us explore how to bring more bliss into your life!

October greetings, to you, dear reader! This month the thirteenth Tarot card of the Major Arcana brings transformation and rebirth into our lives! Often feared and misunderstood as bringing an actual death into one’s life, this card actually refers to the end of one era and the beginning of a new one! Great change is on the way! How will you greet the transformation? Contemplate this Native American proverb:
When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced. Live your life in a manner so that when you die the world cries and you rejoice.
Ancient Egyptians believed that they would be asked two questions upon their passing that would determine their new lives in the beyond. The first was, “Did you bring joy?” and the second was, “Did you find joy?” What is most important to you? How could you release what is unnecessary in your life to focus on what is in your heart? Come in for a Heroic Tarot reading and let us work together to manifest these goals!
Hello, dear readers, I am off to Portland for the first time to experience the wonders of Stumptown! (Google it, I have not the time to link as I am waiting for my plane shuttle as I type). I will not unable to post until I return early next week! I will take notes, however, and will transcribe for your amusement/edification/entertainment at a later date!
Until then! Keep rocking the comics!
In the meantime, check out this X-Men tease and if you feel led, please comment on what you think about it. I’d love to know your opinions on this bold direction Marvel is taking (laughs).Spoiler: The winged guy is not Angel. Think back, way back to the original 5 and you might recognize that big M and remember the guy who had all the powers of Angel, Beast, Cyclops. Marvel Girl and Iceman combined: MIMIC! (Yes, you’ll have to Google him on your own too, my apologies!)
