Storm Arcana

Heroic Tarot & Arcana Academy

The Entire Cast of She-Ra: Princess of Power!

Who doesn’t love She-Ra?  She’s like Barbie with a broadsword.  How is that not cool?  I didn’t watch the show as avidly as say, G.I. Joe or Super Friends, but I loved it whenever I got the chance.  I remember really liking the Catwoman rip-off Catra and the only dude on the show, the hunky archer (named Bow as it were).  I’m loving this image because it showcases every character in She-Ra’s cast.  love the peacock lady (Peekablue) and the lady with the pink feathered wings.  Go ahead and say it loud, you know you want to:  “For the honor of Grayskull!  I am She-Ra!”

If you don’t mind me asking…where exactly does this particular image come from, is it from one of the activity books or something? Only I haven’t come across this particular image before and I’ve pretty much devoured everything She-Ra that I’ve found on the net over the past 12 years.

Hey Cosmic Falcon! Is your name a reference to Zoar, aka the Sorceress? 🙂 Thanks for the interest, but I honestly don’t know where the image came from exactly. I came across it a few years back while searching online. I wanted to show one of my friends how he resembled Bow! *laughs* Anyway, wish I could be more helpful. Thanks for checking out the site!

I just wanted you to know that the winged chick is Angelica. I am a huge She-Ra fan. I have all the DVD’s and have my kids digging the show now. I love the pic!!

Queen Angella was always one of the more interesting characters. She technically led the Rebellion, but only as far as owning the castle and the kingdom they were based in. All the field decisions were made by She-Ra, mostly because Angella, while a superbly kickass magic-user, was dependent on her castle for her powers (much like the Sorceress).

I think Catra stood on her own fairly well…besides the design motifs, she really had more in common with the Hellion Catseye than with Catwoman…both were metamorphic underlings who didn’t bring much to the table besides their respective cat schticks.

My favorite character, unsurprisingly, was Adora/She-Ra herself. Unlike Adam/He-Man, who pretended to be a laybout slacker to throw off people from figuring out who he was, Adora really had nothing to lose if people found out about her, so she didn’t feel the need make any false pretenses…Adora and She-Ra were the same woman, only differentiated from each other by Melendy Britt’s superb voice acting and the fact that one of them had superpowers (and ran around in a tiara, short cape, and conveniently-weighted mini skirt that never had a single panty shot).

I loved the premise of this show…it was the first I knew of where the bad guys were actually the ones in power, and the rebellion were the ones you rooted for. Unfortunately, it did bother me that the only men on the show were either evil (Hordak and the Horde) or incompetent (seriously, find me an episode where Bow DIDN’T either bungle things horribly or need rescuing!). Teela, Marlena, Evil-Lyn, and the Sorceress got much better depictions in He-Man than Bow and the Horde on She-Ra.

That said, I would’ve greatly enjoyed seeing a remake, or at least a graphic novel, with some updated designs a la the 2002 remake of He-Man. Alan Davis drawing a She-Ra series would be amazing; look at the designs of Glimmer, Flutterina, and the woman with the ribboned sleeves on the far left, and tell me you’re not thinking of British Psylocke. 😛

I loved watching She-ra Princess of Power and He-man and the Masters of the Universe, I wish that they would put it back on the air or make movies of both of the shows.
