The world is full of magazines chock-full of articles that will tell you what to wear, eat, and think, all in the mindset of convincing you to conform to a set of established conventions. Where’s the fun in that? I’m happy to have discovered a publication that not only doesn’t mind a bit of imperfection, it celebrates it!
The Messy Heads is an online and printed publication run by four amazing women who “are not seeking perfection.” Their About page reveals:
You won’t find how to get perfect hair, say the right thing to guys, or learn 10 ways to lose 10 pounds before summer. We want you to realize that perfection is unattainable, and life is better lived messy.
The Messy Heads visited me in June and the result is a lovely conversation between Editor and Creator Emma Mercury and myself. The article is one of four interviews they conducted for a series entitled, “Home is Where the Art Is,” in Issue 3, The Home Issue.
The article is free to read on The Messy Heads website, but as you can see from the images in this post, the magazine is beautifully designed and a worthy addition to your reading collection. You may order all of their issues on their site.
