Greetings, Dear Reader!
Yours Truly is leaving San Francisco to go on a year long road trip! I will be following in the tradition of fortune tellers of yore in bringing my unique brand of divination to cities and communities across the country. The goal of this odyssey is develop and expand my psychic abilities. I have never done anything like this before and I am excited about the possibilities!
Heroic Tarot was born January 1, 2010 and I have learned so much from my clients since then. I am so grateful for the opportunities I have had to ply my trade. I have adored working my weekly hours and at parties at Swankety Swank. Every encounter has been a privilege to inspire folks to embrace and express their inner super-hero. I have also had the pleasure of reading cards at many different events around the Bay Area from Z’s Cocktail Lounge in Alameda to LucasArts in San Francisco’s Presidio. Now it is time to take the show on the road!
If you would like a reading before I leave town, seize the day! Check out my Yelp reviews, my divination arsenal, and Heroic Tarot Tuesdays and consider making an appointment with me! You can contact me directly at HeroicTarot(at)gmail(dot)com.
I would like to take this time to publicly thank James Sime and Kirsten Baldock of Isotope Comic Book Lounge and Yabette and Alex Alfaro of Swankety Swank for having me as an employee. My time at both places was full of experiences that changed me for the better. There is a savvy clientele and culture that patronizes both establishments and I made so many great connections that I will treasure for the rest of my life. If you are one of those people thank you from the bottom of my heart. To anyone reading this, I highly recommend that you visit these independently owned stores and support San Francisco’s local merchants.
Storm Sunday will continue to feature our beloved heroine Ororo Munroe until April. Then I will shift focus with personal narratives about my trip on STORM Sundays. I am looking forward to sharing my stories on the road with you! Your resident White Queen aficionado, Ken Kneisel, will continue to serve Emma Frost realness on Wednesdays and will be expanding his writing focus to other topics, so stay tuned!
I believe that my last weekend in San Francisco for the foreseeable future will be Wonder Con weekend, so I will still be attending the show with my compadres Writers Old Fashioned. If you are in the city please come by and sample our wares!
I came to San Francico five years ago from North Carolina to learn how to be a better writer. In the course of that search, I earned two Masters, worked at the best comic book store in the world, managed the best boutique of artists one could imagine, created two comic books, performed my little drag heart out, and created my own business. Throughout that journey, I worked at a mortuary, a college, and a hair salon (I think that is everything). I will never cease to be amazed at the vibrant energy of this city and how it supports whatever off the wall endeavor one decides to pursue. Blessings to everyone whose path has crossed mine and I wish you abundance in all things.
Thanks also to my readers for following stormantic for the last three years and I hope you will vicariously come along on my trip with me!
*For those wondering, the vanity plate depicted in the photo above was actually mine when I lived in North Carolina. No one I met at that time understood the reference and that was totally okay with me. I love that Storm’s name is a palindrome.
