Perhaps you  missed out on the first issue of the Avengers: The Children’s Crusade mini-series by Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung and you are contemplating waiting for the collected trade paperback.  In the immortal words of Thor, I say thee nay!  Do not wait for the trade, comics fans!  Instead, read the above recap and make sure to reserve your copy of the second issue at your local comics shop, and while you are at it–look for the second printing variant!  This is an amazing story and I would hate for you to miss out on it, dear reader!

  1. I totally agree! I’m so glad this mini-series is out and features Wiccan and Hulkling so heavily. I was so bummed when YA got canceled and this series is totally the salve on that wound.

This looks like the kind of story I have to read in trade. I hate waiting on a resolution.

That said, I’m way more likely to get this than I was to get the Civil War or Secret Invasion tie-ins. Cheung draws an amazing, AMAZING Magneto (not that I’m surprised), and I’ve been waiting for Wiccan and Speed to meet him. Especially Billy.

I hope Hulkling can pull some screentime with this one too…I know it’s not likely, but I’d love to find out how my favorite Marvel couple ended up together, and get a little backstory on their relationship.

    • The story is centering a lot around Wiccan and Hulkling already, so hopefully more background info will be revealed.
