I’ve always found the Inhumans to be a fascinatingly diverse group of characters. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, their powers run the gamut of superheroic abilities from Medusa’s super tensile tendrils to Lockjaw’s teleportation. Some of them have been supporting characters for the Fantastic Four and the Avengers, but recently the Inhumans have become stars in their own right, prominently featured in Marvel’s cosmic War of Kings storyline.
In this image (click on it to see it larger) by the always amazing Kevin Nowlan, King Black Bolt flies above the Royak Family. Below him, from left to right, is Gorgon, Crystal, Lockjaw, Karnak and Medusa. Triton is rising out of the depths below them.
Dale Eaglesham‘s version of the Inhumans will be appearing in an upcoming Fantastic Four story. Definitely jump on board Fantastic Four! Jonathan Hickman and Dale Eaglesham make quite the creative team! Not to be missed!
This image of Medusa was drawn by Barry Windsor-Smith when he was first starting out in the business. The designs in the background and in the lettering are quite beautiful.
This is the original artwork in all of its black and white goodness. It makes me feel better about my art to know that even illustrator extraordinaire BWS needed to use whiteout at one time in his career.
